La ballata dei senza tetto

The animation short tells, from little Tommy’s point of view, about the dramatic events of the earthquake that hit the Region in 2012: the people, the suffering, the courage, the rebirth. The child is accompanied in his journey by a snail, a symbol of tenacity and progress. The characters were built and animated in 3D through seven months of processing. There are many symbols in this work, as homage to the culture and the history of the region; for example hot-air balloons that take the roofs from the houses, inspired by the famous event in Ferrara, one of the areas most hit in the earthquake; or the shades of brown of the region’s “hearth” that recall the scenes of wheat fields and the banks of the Po river in Bernardo Bertolucci’s film “Novecento”.
